About

Who We Are and Why We're Doing This

We’re convinced that protecting our future means everybody has to be involved in the Democratic process.

That’s why we’re making sure that during the lead-up to the election and on November 5th, the people who want to vote have the opportunity to vote.

The last general election was in 2020. More than 380,000 registered voters in Philadelphia stayed home — that means over 380,000 votes were lost! There were many reasons, but one of the biggest ones was lack of transportation.

Are you a voter?

People have lots of reasons for not voting.

They might be working or taking care of kids. Maybe the polling station is too far away from where they live. They might be sick or not as steady on their feet as they used to be. If the weather is bad, they don’t have bus fare or they don’t feel safe walking to the polling station, they might decide to stay home.

Voting may be a challenge. But Democracy only works if we all participate. Souls to the Polls is here to help you get to the polling station without a hassle. Your ride is free and quick. And we’ll bring you back home after you’ve voted.

Are you thinking of volunteering to drive or help another way?

Whatever is motivating you — religious conviction, ethical or political commitment, a passion for peace or because you love your city — join us and make a difference on November 5th!

Philly Souls to the Polls is a broad, non-partisan, neighbor-to-neighbor project, initiated by Philadelphia-area Quakers, involving drivers and other volunteers from nonsectarian community groups, religious and non-religious backgrounds, neighborhood organizations and activists. We serve voters regardless of their affiliation.
