FAQ

About your ride to the polls

When can I sign up?

Don’t wait — sign up early. That helps us know what to expect.

We’ll arrange a time that works for you when we get back in touch.

You should still sign up. We can arrange the time later.
Souls to the Polls is nonpartisan. It’s for all voters, regardless who they’re affiliated with. Your vote is private and it’s between you and your conscience.
There’s no charge. Your ride is free.

We’ll be glad to drive you to the polling station and bring you home after you’ve cast your ballot.
Share this website with them. Or give us their contact information on the contact us form and we’ll contact them.
No. We’ll drive you to the polls regardless of your affiliation. You’re welcome and it doesn’t matter whether you worship in a temple, mosque, church or meetinghouse. Or not at all.
As long as there is room in the car and and as long as they wear a seatbelt, they’re welcome aboard.

About Volunteering

We’ll add more details later. But for now, you have to be licensed, the car has to be yours, it must be insured and it has to have working seat belts for the passengers. You have to have a cell phone and be able to use navigation.

Can you help answer phones or contact voters who need a ride or have questions? Do you have experience with IT, communications/marketing or project management? Can you be flexible and take on special tasks that come up as we get closer to November 5th? If so, please sign up to volunteer

We’ll station drivers at key spots in the neighborhoods so they’ll be close to the voters who need rides. The locations will depend on demand and we won’t have a clear picture of that until shortly before Election Day.
We will match you with a voter who needs a ride. You will have their address and the address of the polling station. You’ll pick them up and bring them home when they’re done.
Use the contact us form to let us know. Give us details like the name of a contact person, cell phone and email address and we’ll get in touch.
It’s difficult to predict at this point, but we think many voters will take us up on the offer. We know that thousands of people stayed home in 2020. If advance get-out-the-vote activities are successful, more people will come out this time. Variables like weather, last-minute issues at home, illness or childcare will all impact the turnout.

Sure. Maybe they can welcome riders or help with navigation. Please keep it to one.
Don’t let that stop you. Sign up as a home-based  volunteer and let us know the kinds of work you might be able to do.
